Matt and Lianna met over a decade ago when both were undergraduates in Chicago. They became fast friends after meeting in three separate classes during their first week of school, and remained friends (with plenty of romantic tension) for seven years. Matt moved back to Los Angeles after graduating to continue his work in the recording industry, while Lianna stayed in Chicago to get her Master's degree in sound design. Lianna moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 2020, and the pair became a couple within two months. They have been together ever since, and now live together with their much-loved rescue dogs, Red and Coco.
